Mark is currently President of The Clapham Group, a strategic communications and consulting firm located in Washington, DC. He served for six years as the Staff Director of the Senate Republican Conference, which is the third-ranking Republican leadership office in the U.S. Senate. Prior to serving in this capacity, he was Chief of Staff for 10 years to Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), four of which when the Senator was a member of the House of Representatives. Mark cut his teeth as deputy campaign manager in a U.S. House race in Texas in 1984, and started Election Consultants Incorporated in 1996. He was the president of the National Institute for Lay Education (NILE), which he founded to develop adult education curriculum to encourage reflective Christian involvement in politics. He then worked as Director of Resource Development at the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, a faith-based organization committed to addressing the social needs of Pittsburgh from a Christian perspective. While on Capitol Hill, Mark gave leadership to a Christian worldview ministry for staff called Faith and Law. Mark is married, and the father of four children.
Education
He is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering, and attended Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry.
