Spanish University Gives Honorary Doctorate to George Weigel

On November 13, 2007, Abad Oliba University in Barcelona, Spain, gave a Honoris Causa Doctorate to EPPC Senior Fellow George Weigel.  Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, Archbishop of Krakow, also received an honorary doctorate at the ceremony.  Both Mr. Weigel and Cardinal Dziwicz were honored for their roles in promoting the teachings of the Catholic Church and the life and ministry of Pope John Paul II.

Mr. Weigel is the author of Witness to Hope, the international bestselling biography of Pope John Paul II. Cardinal Dziwisz served for 27 years as John Paul II's personal secretary.
