PRESS RELEASES & NEWS
Publication Date: March 9, 2006

The Ethics and Public Policy Center is delighted to report that Joseph Loconte has joined EPPC as a Senior Fellow. Mr. Loconte's areas of expertise include the importance of religion to American democracy, efforts to promote religious liberty, international human rights, and the relationship of Islam to democratic freedoms. Mr. Loconte previously served as the William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and a Free Society at the Heritage Foundation, and as deputy editor of Policy Review, where he wrote widely about religion and politics. Since 1996, he has served as a regular commentator on religion and culture for National Public Radio's All Things Considered. He will help direct EPPC's program on Evangelicals in Civic Life.

"Joe Loconte is a prolific and insightful writer and thinker on the role of religious belief in strengthening democracy, advancing human rights, and reforming civil society," said EPPC President Ed Whelan. "He's a great fit for EPPC, and we're delighted to have him on board."

"EPPC has long been a powerful voice in support of public policies that are faithful to our Judeo-Christian moral tradition," said Mr. Loconte. "I'm grateful and eager to be part of the EPPC team."

Radical-in-Chief

Read EPPC Senior Fellow Stanley Kurtz's remarkable new political biography of President Obama, Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism. The New York Times bestseller, which draws on never-before-seen evidence to reveal the carefully hidden tale of Barack Obama's political past, has already earned praise as "the most important political book of the year" and as "a meticulous work of political archeology, an excavation of Obama's radical roots and socialist affiliations."
