EPPC Fellow James C. Capretta participated in a public forum at the Catholic Information Center in Washington, D.C., on February 8, entitled “Contesting the HHS Mandate.” Mr. Capretta spoke on a panel that included Richard Doerflinger, Associate Director of the Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Kyle Duncan, General Counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. The panel was moderated by Kyle Williams, a doctoral candidate in philosophy at the Catholic University of America. The panel was asked to provide perspectives on the serious religious liberty issues at stake in the regulation promulgated by HHS on mandatory contraceptive coverage in health insurance. The event was recorded and broadcast on C-SPAN, and can be viewed here. Mr. Capretta’s opening remarks can be viewed below or here.
